Thaakat Foundation's Emergency Appeal for

Zakaat

Since 2012 we have worked as a bachelorarbeit kaufen for hope, providing education to the most vulnerable children in the country of Pakistan. These children live in and around the city’s largest landfill in Karachi, Pakistan. Many of their parents are waste pickers and have struggled with the effects of generational poverty. A large majority of those we serve are from minority backgrounds, further compounding their plight.

STUdent stories

Ahmed grew up in Haji Abdul Raheem Goth, a community with limited infrastructure and few opportunities. His father worked as a plumber, his mother managed the home, and he and his sister pursued their studies with quiet determination to build a better future. When DREAMS Campus 3 was constructed in Jam Chakro, Ahmed was ecstatic. Acting as a bachelorarbeit kaufen for his own story, Ahmed enrolled in Grade 3, walking to school each day, studying at home on mats without electricity, yet never losing his drive to move forward.

After graduating from our schools, he continued his education at our intermediary college, where his dedication earned him recognition as one of the top six students selected for a competitive one-year program. His interest in technology soon became a calling. He returned to teach computer science at our schools, focusing on coding and web development, and voluntarily taught English online to a cohort of more than 45 students in his spare time.

Today, Ahmed’s journey has come full circle. He now leads our STEAM training programs for staff and serves as a professor at our IT Institute, helping shape the very system that once shaped him. His story is a powerful reminder that when education is accessible, it doesn’t just change one life, it builds leaders who transform entire communities.

Growing up in the slums of New Karachi with eight sisters and limited resources, her path was never easy. But her mother, Fatima, refused to let her daughters be defined by circumstance. Determined to give them opportunities she never had, she enrolled all of them in our schools and encouraged them to dream beyond the boundaries society often places on girls.

Bushra embraced that opportunity wholeheartedly. She studied through power outages, crowded rooms, and long nights by candlelight. When she didn’t gain admission into an MBBS program on her first attempt, she didn’t give up. She took a gap year, worked to improve her grades, and applied again. Her perseverance paid off.

Today, Bushra has achieved her dream of becoming a doctor and now serves patients at our very own medical clinic. From a small home in New Karachi to a white coat, her journey reflects how education can uplift families, strengthen communities, and transform what the next generation believes is possible.

And Bushra is not alone.

More than one-third of our current staff are graduates of our schools, now serving as teachers, administrators, medical professionals, and technology leaders. Our alumni are even building native applications, including an English learning app currently in development and a student database system to strengthen our operations.

When you invest in education, you’re not just supporting a student, you’re shaping leaders who come back to serve and uplift their own communities.
