These dreams were just a vision many years ago. We spent endless time drawing up plans with @idaraalkhair, realizing that what we do not put to paper could not come true.

We thank our donors, our giving partners who are known and those anonymous, and our grantors at the Ali and Ayeza Impact fund for fueling our passion to make a difference.

Meet Mamawa, 14, a graduate from Kathleen’s scho Meet Mamawa, 14, a graduate from Kathleen’s school of light, a learning center we built in 2021.

Despite the enduring havoc caused by poverty on her family, Mamawa has shown remarkable resilience. Men old enough to be her father have come offering gifts and making promises of a so-called “better life”.

Mamawa’s answer remains a resounding “No” at each attempt. Many of her peers have fallen prey to this evil.

Behind her stand parents and teachers who support her every step of the way to continue and complete school. This would be difficult without proper support. She is uncertain about her future, but she is determined. She has become a shining star among her peers in and out of class.

Her story is more than one girl’s resilience. It’s about what happens when a community gets the school infrastructure it deserves. A place that shields children from exploitation and powers their dreams.

This is why we build spaces that spark safety and joy.

Thank you to our donors at the Bobear Family Fund for making this learning haven reality. The school was built in memory of Kathleen, a guiding light for thousands of students throughout her life as an educator.

We noticed high absenteeism among the elder girls We noticed high absenteeism among the elder girls on campus. Although issues are multifaceted for girls growing up in poverty, we knew there were some ways we could help.

Our EmpowerHer program, built to give girls access to feminine hygiene products and real, honest education about their bodies and their rights has now distributed over 16,000 products and hosted dozens of seminars. And 100% of the girls involved say they feel more positive because of it.

Today, mothers and aunts are now asking to attend our seminars as well.

That’s the ripple effect we always hoped for.

Thank you to the Ali & Ayeza Impact Fund for inspiring positive change, and to Saba Mazahir for building thoughtful dialogue and change on campus.

It may seem like an ordinary day for most. Howev It may seem like an ordinary day for most.

However today in a rural community in Sierra Leone, grounds for the new school are being prepared.

When we selected this as a recipient community for our “5 schools in 5 years” plan some years back, we weren’t sure if the day would come.

But we dreamed and so did they.

* Currently, construction of the school is well underway with the extended foundation getting laid.
* Backfilling for the bathrooms has been completed.
* And digging of the water well is actively ongoing.

The construction team graciously walked us through the blueprint and showed how it’s being brought to life on the ground.

Bassaleh, here we come!

Thank you to our kind donor for making this possible and to our ground team for powering this work forward.
