Sierra Leoneโs 11-year civil war caused widespread devastation to the countryโs essential infrastructure. This left entire communities without access to basic education or medical care. In rural areas, where resources were already limited, the collapse of both health and learning systems has had lasting negative impacts.
As we continue to build schools and maternal health campuses side by side in communities of need, our hope is that safe, inclusive, quality, and equitable education and healthcare access will be a foundational tool to propel communities out of poverty.
One of our recent ventures, the building of the MPATHIK maternal health campus in Sierra Leone provides critical pre and post natal care for expecting new mothers. Since opening in 2024, the clinic has provided treatment for thousands of individuals and helped to safely welcome over 100 babies into the world.
