Hero.

More than 700 million people around the world live without access to essential services like healthcare, education, and safe shelter. At Thaakat Foundation, we’re rebuilding the physical infrastructure and supportive services that allow communities to lift themselves out of poverty.

Every project we build is designed for the future. From solar-powered electricity and clean water systems to well-equipped libraries and sports fields, we ensure that every donation creates enduring change. What makes our work unique is our ongoing commitment to standing by what we build. We conduct annual audits to ensure each facility remains resourced, active, and impactful. These will never be abandoned buildings, we want them to be centers of hope. It’s part of our long-term strategy to ensure that every initiative provides lasting impact.

Tehrish loves to play cricket and is determined to change stereotypes that any sport is gender-specific.

Changing the World. One Story at a Time.

Tehrish is a student at our all girl’s campus in Pakistan. This is 1 of 4 campuses serving the poorest communities of Karachi, Pakistan.

Generation after generation of children, especially girls, are locked out of education—and into poverty. It’s why we stage interventions and counseling sessions the moment we notice any of our female students facing an issue. Cultural barriers often dictate that women manage child rearing and domestic duties versus working outside of the home. Tehrish has a chance to be anything she wants to be, thanks to your support!

What does she want to be when she grows up? Tehrish wishes to be a teacher, inspired by Miss Saba, her current 5th grade teacher at our DREAMS school.

Our board members work as volunteers around the clock, taking no salary and allocating very little to management overhead. A miniscule 1% was our overhead allocation in 2021 and it was donated by our kind sponsors and corporate partners.
